Assisted Living – Adult Family Homes

The meals we serve to our residents are very popular. We lovingly create good, old fashioned, well-balanced meals featuring healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. This balanced diet promotes good eating habits and helps our residents maintain good health. We also happily cater to residents with dietary restrictions, so be sure to speak with a caregiver about your personal needs.

Residents also have access to transportation services from their home, and we routinely make scheduled and non-scheduled trips.

Our caregivers also provide grooming services that include help with nails, hair, bathing, and more. We understand that everyone wants to look and feel their best, so we take the time to assist guests in whatever way we can to ensure they are clean and healthy.

Personalized rooms that turn a house into a home

Every private room is fully furnished. We encourage our residents to personalize their rooms in order to create a space that is theirs and theirs alone. Family pictures, priceless hand-me-downs, and gifts from grandchildren are the personal touches that turn a house into a home, and it’s important to be surrounded by the mementos that act as a daily reminder of a life well lived.

Finding the right level of care for yourself or a beloved family member

If you’re looking into adult family homes for yourself or a loved one, it’s important to understand if this is the right choice. People who need more personalized daily care than they can get living on their own, often seek residential care at an assisted living home or facility. However, it’s important to understand the differences between various residential care options, so that you make a choice that is suited to your particular needs.

One of the primary differences between residential cares is the type of housing provided. Our adult family homes are located in residential neighborhoods where up to 6 residents can enjoy a very real home-like environment. Adult Family Homes offer housing to larger numbers of residents that may even number well into the hundreds.

Another key difference is the level of care provided. Family homes tend to offer more personalized care, which is something usually not possible with larger facilities. If you are considering an adult family homes, we encourage you to sit and down and talk about some very important issues that will help you narrow your search.

A big change in life

First, we urge you to talk about how your life will change when you move into an assisted living home. If you wait until there’s a crisis, it may end up being too late, so take time to discuss why you need an added layer of personal care and decide how best to get it.

Before you have this conversation, take some time to study your options. Obviously, we are proud of our family homes, but you will ultimately have to decide which type of assisted living suits your needs and budget. If you’re seeking new living arrangements for a loved one, we urge you to include them in this conversation and be willing to listen to their needs and concerns. Big life changes aren’t always readily accepted, but remaining positive and taking time to keep dialog open will eventually render better choices.

Consider your health and personal needs

What kind of care is needed for you or your loved one, socially, physically, and medically. Will you need daily reminders to take medications? Will you need help with personal hygiene? Do you want to engage with other people with similar needs? Do you have special needs or are you dealing with dementia or some other potentially hazardous health condition?

Taking the time to explore your needs will help ensure you choose a new home that has everything required to enjoy a happy, healthy life.

Get information to help you narrow down your search

There is plenty of information available online focused on assistance for seniors. We urge you to take the time you need to familiarize yourself with this information to better understand how the assisted living industry works.

You may also want to look into Medicaid to help pay for your housing. This will require an assessment from your regional Home and Community Services office

Explore your options

While we believe we offer the highest level of care available in a family home, we still urge clients to fully explore their options. You may eventually decide that an adult family homes is a better match, so it makes sense to use the internet and your phone to get the information you need to make the best living choice.

Once you’ve narrowed down your choices, it’s time to set up visits. We encourage all prospective residents to check out a couple of our family home for themselves. Simply give us a call and set up an appointment. We will happily provide you with all state inspection reports and provide you with a comprehensive list of the many services we offer.

You will find that we have a stellar track record, happy guests, and a living environment that truly feels like home. Our residents are all a part of the family, and we would love for you to become a part of that family.

Breaking down the costs of assisted living

Eventually, you’re going to have to consider the price of your new living arrangements and how it fits within your budget. We have flexible rates that vary depending on the level of care required, so feel free to call us and find out more about costs based on your needs.

Making the move into your new home

Moving is a major change in life, and it can also be quite stressful. We will help make the transition into your new home as seamless as possible, but there are some steps you should take on your own as well.

For one, be sure to talk specifically about how your daily life will change. If you have any questions about what your daily routine will be like, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our caregivers. Carefully plan your move ahead of time so that you are ready when the day comes.

While we encourage our residents to customize their rooms, making a move to any family home requires letting go of certain possessions that took a lifetime to acquire. We understand that this isn’t easy for everyone because while some people look forward to having fewer responsibilities, others find it hard to let go.

Remember that it will take a few weeks to adjust to your new home and routine, but we will be at your side throughout this time to help you in whatever way we can. Our family home administrator is always willing to address your questions or concerns because we want you to enjoy a healthy, happy life as part of our family.
